Barbara Park Goldschmid
10/12/1941 - 1/10/2026

Barbara Park Goldschmid (Barby) passed away peacefully on the morning of January 10th in Tucson, AZ. Born in Columbus, Ohio, to Howard Courtland Park and Barbara Carter Park on October 12, 1941, she attended Columbus School for Girls (Class of 1959) and graduated from Bennett College in New York with a teaching degree. She started her career in New York city, teaching at the Church of the Heavenly Rest Day School and married soon after (William M Duncan II) . They had three children whom they raised in New York City and then Greenwich, CT.  They were married for many years and remained friends after their divorce.  In Greenwich, Barby was an active volunteer for many, many organizations and worked for two decades as director of youth ministries at Christ Church.
In 1984 she married her second husband and the love of her life, Charles Robert Goldschmid (Chuck). In 1992 they moved to Breckenridge, Colorado, where Barby continued her passion of teaching at Breck Kids, and was very active at St. John’s Episcopal Church. She and Chuck spent a year in Honduras living as volunteers at El Hogar Orphanage, an experience she cherished. She was a gifted, caring and passionate teacher who touched the lives of generations of children and teens wherever she was.
That gift was no more evident than when she became a grandmother. Granny B was truly the world’s best! She was a model of compassion, kindness and love and she filled her grandchildren’s lives with all kinds of adventures. Elaborate camping trips, cookie baking and lemonade stands were some of the favorites.

She and Chuck eventually settled in Tucson, AZ. She was a very active volunteer at St. Phillips in the Hills, Grace St. Paul and The Zambian Children’s Fund, where she served as director for many years. She also put her big heart and teaching skills to work as a director of St. Phillip’s After School Music Program. It was there that she was awarded a Ben’s Bells (a local organization that highlights those who make a difference in the world by promoting kindness and community involvement). Her nominator stated, “It’s Barby’s leadership, continued support, gentle spirit and infectious joy that makes the program a huge success”.
To borrow the words of a dear friend: “Barby’s energy, even when she had little reserve, was remarkable. She lived for others, she gave to others, it was who she was to her core.”

Her leadership, support, spirit, joy and energy will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Barby is predeceased in death by her sister Patty Bowman. She is survived by her beloved husband, Chuck Goldschmid, her children, Joby Duncan Koren (Michael) of Lone Tree, CO, H. Park Duncan (Whitney) of Greenwich, CT, William Millen Duncan, Jr. (Annie) of Skull Valley, AZ, her five grandchildren, Jake Koren, Lilly Koren, Sydney Duncan, Robby Duncan, Will Duncan, her nephews, Courtland Bowman (Cheri), Alec Goldschmid (Maggie Hanson), her niece, Daedra Unsicker (Neill) and her brother in-laws, Bill Bowman and John Goldschmid.

Charles Robert Goldschmid III
11/9/1946 - 3/31/2026

Charles (Chuck) Robert Goldschmid III passed away on the morning of March 31, 2026. He was born in The Bronx, New York; November 9th, 1946, to Charles (Charlie) Robert Goldschmid, Jr and Jeanne Kolb Goldschmid. The oldest of three boys, he and his brothers; Tom Goldschmid and John Goldschmid, were raised in Old Greenwich, CT. He attended Greenwich High School where he was voted “Best Looking” by his 1965 graduating classmates. He continued his studies at Louisiana Tech University, studied photography at Paier School of Art and served in the Army in Vietnam.
In 1984 he married the love of his life, Barby Park Goldschmid, a celebration that filled Christ Church in Greenwich, CT and raised thousands of dollars for disadvantaged residents of Norfolk, West Virginia; a community he and Barby held close to their hearts after numerous mission trips there with the church youth group. Chuck and Barby lived in Riverside, CT for a number of years before moving to Breckenridge, Colorado. He worked as a musician performing at restaurants and other venues throughout Summit County as well as volunteering at St. John’s Episcopal Church where he and Barby were recognized for their commitment to the church and the community. They eventually moved to Tucson, Arizona where Chuck continued his community involvement as a volunteer at numerous churches and with the Colorado Rockies spring training organization.
Chuck was a stepfather to Barby’s three children and then a step grandfather to five grandchildren. He loved adventures with his grandchildren and was nicknamed the “Fun Guy”.

He loved music and it would become the thread that wove throughout his entire life. Starting with school choruses and high school bands. He continued forming and performing in many well-known bands in and around Greenwich, Breckenridge and Tucson, most notably, Chuck and the Chuckaroos. Fittingly, Chuck was captured in one of the most famous music photographs of all time. On February 7th, 1964, he skipped school to join the fans welcoming the Beatles as they landed at JFK airport in NY for their very first US visit. Chuck made his way to the front of the crowd on the airport tarmac and was featured in Time Magazine’s famous photo.
Chuck is survived by his brother John Goldschmid, his stepchildren Joby Duncan Koren (Michael), H. Park Duncan (Whitney), William Millen Duncan, Jr. (Annie), his step grandchildren, Jake Koren, Lilly Koren, Sydney Duncan, Will Duncan and Robby Duncan, his nephew Alec Goldschmid (Maggie Hanson), and his niece Daedra Unsicker (Neill). He was preceded in death by his brother Tom Goldschmid and by his beloved wife, Barbara Park Goldschmid who passed away two months earlier.
